Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Fishing Tourney Guide: Tips, Tricks You Need To Beat Every Challenge
The Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Fishing Tourney is a six-day event, running from March 15 - 20. During the event you’ll be tasked with catching as many of the special tourney fish as you can at the Saltwater Shores location, which you’ll then deliver to Chip for in game rewards that scale depending on the number and size of fish you’ve caught. Among the rewards are new furniture, decor and even an in-game trophy you’ll be able to show off to your peeps once the event is complete. In conjunction with the Fishing Tourney, new event-themed campsite terrain parts arrive in the shop for players to purchase with their leaf tickets. More will be added throughout the event. Currently, these are the items available:
seafloor (background)
ocean sky
coral fence
Fishing Tourney 1: How It Works
As mentioned, the Fishing Tourney takes place at Saltwater Shores. Head to that location and you’ll see Chip on the shore waiting to chat with you. Once you’re finished chatting with Chip, you can start fishing. The object is to catch as many of the specific event fish as you can. Other fish caught will not count. Finding Tourney fish has been made easy though. Just look for ones with a sparkly shadow The types that count are:
clown fish
surgeonfish
barred knifejaw
Once you’ve caught as many fish as you can hold, head back over to Chip to turn them in. He’ll measure them and give you a reward based on size and number. Pro Tip: You can turn in Fish to Chip every three hours so save them up before making the drop!
Nets And Golden Fishing Rod: Do You Have To Use Them To Complete The Tourney?
As with normal fishing, if you’re hoping to catch a bunch of fish at once, using a net will be your best bet -- but of course, this involves purchasing them. A net will put you back 20 leaf tickets while the Golden Rod will cost you 80 leaf tickets to rent. Don’t worry though. You can complete the challenges without these things. It’ll just require a lot more time and energy. If you’re going to invest, we suggest going with the golden rod as you’ll net two fish every time you cast your rod.
