
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – In 1976, a sport fisherman, business partner, boat captain and gourmet chef all joined forces to open The Fish Market. Not one of them had notable experience in the restaurant business, but their individual and collective passion for seafood was deep enough to drive them toward their vision. They have grown that passion and vision into six locations – including Del Mar, San Diego and four locations in Northern California.
This year, they are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their San Diego location, next to the USS Midway Museum. It offers every type of dining experience including a Sushi Bar, Oyster Bar, and Retail Seafood Counter. In addition, it also houses the Top of the Market – a fine dining restaurant located upstairs with the most spectacular bay views.
The Fish Market’s Fish Monger, Darren Gorski, shared some ideas for seafood dishes during the holidays and told us all about the plans to celebrate their 30th anniversary on Good Morning San Diego.
