Mac’s Fish & Chips closes Snelling Avenue location - St. Paul Pioneer Press

After two and a half years, the Snelling Avenue arm of Mac’s Fish & Chips is no longer. An employee at the Larpenteur Avenue location confirmed the Snelling Avenue spot closed Thanksgiving week and the restaurant’s website no longer lists the Mac-Groveland neighborhood outpost as one of its addresses.

Fans can still find the restaurant’s popular battered cod, halibut and walleye as well as shrimp, clam and chicken strips — not to mention the housemade saltwater taffy that comes with every meal — elsewhere in the metro.

Mac’s Fish & Chips’ other two locations, on Larpenteur Avenue and near Hamline Avenue in St. Paul and another on West 54th Street near Lyndale Avenue South in Minneapolis, are alive and well.

Mac’s Fish & Chips: 1330 W. Larpenteur Ave., St. Paul; 651-489-5299; and 610 W. 54th St., Minneapolis; 612-824-4804; macsfishchipsstrips.com
