Seaside Aquarium posted to its Facebook page Monday saying they found these fish eggs in January after some kelp holdfasts washed ashore after a big storm.
According to the post, they could already see "little eyes peering out" from inside the eggs, so they placed them in a brooding basket to see if they would hatch.
A few days ago, the mystery fish started to hatch.
The aquarium thought that once the fish hatched, they would be able to identify the species. However, they're still puzzled as to what this fish could be.
According to the post, the aquarium hopes they'll have better luck identifying the fish once they get a little bit bigger.
