18 people have been killed and 22 others hurt in a suicide bombing attack on a crowded market in Nigeria.
The attack, believed to have been carried out by three women, targeted a fish market in Konduga, just outside Maiduguri in the northern state of Borno. The state capital has been a frequent target of the Boko Haram insurgency. The attack on Friday is thought to be the latest in a string of bombings by the militant group which wants to establish its own Islamic state.
The extremist faction is increasingly using women and adolescents to set off devices, often after abducting and indoctrinating them.
